Day 01: Arrival Delhi
On your arrival at Delhi, you will be met by our representatives and
transferred to a hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will
be in the hotel at Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi.
New Delhi: India's capital and an important gateway into the country,
New Delhi is a vibrant metropolis and the hub of India's political activity.
Designed and developed by famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-
1944), New Delhi is known for its wide, tree-lined avenues, parks and
palaces. In New Delhi, you will visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan (the
official residence of the president of India), India Gate - a 42m
high stone memorial arch, and the mid-16th century Humayun's Tomb
and more.
Old Delhi: Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Old Delhi is known
for its architectural masterpieces, crowded streets and intensely colorful
bazaars. Drive past Chandni Chowk, the main street of Old Delhi
and a lively shopping bazaar. Visit the magnificent Red Fort and
Jama Masjid (inside visit not included for Jama Masjid), the biggest
mosque in India. Later stop to visit the Raj Ghat, the place where
father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination
in 1948. In the afternoon, we drive to Agra (approx. 4 Hrs). Arrive at
Agra and check in to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Jaipur
Enjoy an early morning at sunrise visit to world-renowned Taj Mahal,
the most beautiful and extravagant monument ever built in the world. Return
to hotel for breakfast. Later, visit the magnificent Agra Fort,
built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565.
Thereafter, we drive to Jaipur (approx 5-6 Hrs.), the pink city of India,
visiting en-route Fatehpur Sikri, once the capital city of Akbar.
See the Bulund Darwaza (the largest gateway in the world), Jama
Masjid and the Tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti, the great Sufi saint
of India. Continue drive to Jaipur. Arrive at Jaipur and check in to a
hotel for overnight stay.
Day 04: Jaipur
After breakfast, enjoy an exciting and unforgettable sightseeing tour
of Jaipur. Enjoy a unique and momentous joy ride on an elephant back up
to the 17th century Amber Fort. Set in a picturesque location,
Amber Fort represents a fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture,
in red sandstone and white marble. Thereafter, explore Jaipur's old city.
Visit the enchantingly beautiful City Palace, a fine blend of Rajasthani
and Mughal architecture, now housing a museum containing rare armories,
manuscripts, and paintings. Later, visit the Hawa Mahal (Palace of
Winds), the landmark architecture of Jaipur built of pink sandstone.
You will also visit the Jantar Mantar, an Astronomical observatory
built by maharaja Jai Singh in 1728. The most striking instrument at Jantar
Mantar is the Sundial, with its 27m-high gnomon; the shadow this casts
moves up to 4m per hour. Evening is free for own personal activities or
shopping. Jaipur offers a unique and exciting shopping experience to its
visitors. You can shop for exotic gems and jewellery items including the
famous traditional Kundan Jewellery, handicrafts and much more on your
Jaipur tour. Overnight stay will be in the hotel at Jaipur.
Day 05: Jaipur-Delhi-Shimla
After breakfast, we drive back to Delhi (approx. 5Hrs). Visit the famous
and exotic Dilli Haat (entrance fee to be paid by you) or free at leisure
to explore local bazaars of Delhi on your own. Dilli Haat is a Food and
Crafts Bazaar offering one-stop shopping place for tourists. You can also
taste the ethnic cuisine and witness the different performing arts of
the country at Dilli Haat.
Evening transfer to Delhi Railway Station to board an overnight train
to Shimla. - 2311 Howrah Kalka Exp (II AC Sleeper) Leaving Delhi at
22.50 Hrs.
Day 06: Arrival Kalka-Shimla (Toy Train)
Early morning arrival in Kalka at 05.00 Hrs. Board the Toy Train at 05.
30Hrs - connected to 241 Shivalik express from the next platform. Enjoy
a delicious Breakfast on board the train. Upon arrival in Shimla, you
will be met and transferred to your hotel. Evening free to walk around
the famous Mall.
Shimla: The capital city of Himachal Pradesh and the former summer
capital of British India, Shimla is one of the finest hill resorts of
India. Bulging at its seams with unprecedented expansion, Shimla retains
a colonial aura, with its grand old buildings, among them the stately
Viceregal Lodge, charming Iron Lampposts and Anglo-Saxon
names. The Mall, packed with shops and eateries, is the prime centre
of attraction, and Scandal Point, associated with the former Maharaja
of Patiala's escapades, offers a view of distant snow clad peaks. Overnight
stay in the hotel.
Day 07: Shimla
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Kufri. Kufri: Located
amidst the enchantingly beautiful surroundings at an altitude of 2,510
m, Kufri is a nondescript little village, but the nearby countryside offers
perfect conditions for some good hiking, including a hike to nearby Mahasu
Peak. Horses can be hired for trips around the valley and hills. The
Himalayan Nature Park is other major attraction in the region and
is known for its wild animals and birds unique to Himachal Pradesh. Return
to Shimla city. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight stay in your hotel
at Shimla.
Day 08: Shimla-Chandigarh-Delhi
After breakfast, time at leisure till noon. You can explore and enjoy
Shimla on your own. In the afternoon, we drive to Chandigarh to board
the Shatabdi Express at 18.20 Hrs. Arrive at New Delhi Railway Station
at 21.40 Hrs and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 09: Delhi-Departure
After breakfast, free time for shopping. In the evening, on time transfer
to airport to board a flight for your onward destination or way back home.
